WEATHERIZATION UPDATE…..

You are applying for weatherization when you complete an application for fuel assistance. Because of limited funds, homes are prioritized based upon energy consumption, with special consideration given to households that contain one or more persons who are disabled or elderly. You will be notified when your name reaches the top of the priority list. If you are not notified within one year, you must reapply to be reassigned priority for service. If your home has been weatherized in the past, it may not be eligible to be weatherized again.

Department of Energy

Services Provided: Helps improve the heating & cooling efficiency of homes and permanently reduces home energy consumption through insulating, weather-stripping, caulking, window repair and heating system tune-up or repair.

Eligibility: Based on income. Apply through the LIEAP program. Homes are weatherized on a priority basis.

When to Apply: Any time.

Weatherization For Hire

Services Provided: Insulation (blow-in, spray on and batt); caulking, weather-stripping, and other measures to prevent air-infiltration. The weatherization crew is providing these services for those who are not financially eligible for other assistance, but are willing to reimburse the agency. Contact the HRDC Weatherization Director for a free bid for services.
